DIRECTOR / 3D SCANNING MANAGER
Locally born and raised Kim has a background in the Steel Fabrication industry. Graduating from Rockhampton Grammer School Kim then attended CQ university. Kim was employed as an apprentice Diesel Fitter at the mines, since completing his trade Kim managed a steel workshop for 8 years. In 2007 CEADS was established, along with his business partner Darryl they set up the foundations of the business which now has a well established reputation in the region. Kim's role within the business has now changed to a more hands-off supervisor role over watching the whole business and ensuring every project runs smooth and meets the deadlines whilst managing the Industrial department he spends majority of his time project managing. Outside of work Kim enjoys spending time with his family participating in various sporting activities.
DIRECTOR / SPECIALTY PROJECTS MANAGER
From a young age Darryl had a passion for drawing & design, whether that be landscape, people or building. After graduating from North Rockhampton High Darryl went to CQ University where he completed a degree in mechanical engineering. Straight out of university Darryl was employed by one steel as a piping systems representative. Still in the same industry Darryl moved onto a more suited design role with T & I Pumps. Eventually an opportunity arose at one of the largest local building companies where Darryl was lead designer. This was a role he had for five years before teaming up with Kim Laundry in 2007 to form Capricorn Engineering & Drafting Services. Darryl has an expansive knowledge of planning & construction regulations and manages all of CEADS residential projects. Outside of work Darryl likes to spend time with his family either watching a movie inside or being outdoors at the beach.
COMMERCIAL DESIGN MANAGER
Originally from Canberra Tim relocated to the Capricorn Coast at the age of Twelve and has lived here since. Tim joined the CEADS team in 2009 starting as a Junior Draftsman. Since then he has been exposed to multiple aspects of design including commercial development, industrial design & mining projects. Tim has worked his way through the company and currently oversees all of CEADS commercial developments and town planning projects. Tim has a unique sense of design and is always looking to push the boundaries of what is possible. Enjoying the outdoors he draws inspiration from where the bush meets the beach and this shows in his work with a complimentary blend of industrial & natural design. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his young family, playing football and getting outdoors. Tim has been involved with the Capricorn Coast Football Club since the age of twelve where he has had various playing, coaching & committee roles.
RESIDENTIAL DESIGN MANAGER
Born in Shepparton, Leigh made the move to Yeppoon at the age of 10 and has resided on the coast since. After graduating Year 12 Leigh joined the CEADS team in 2011, initially based in the Industrial team he gained the knowledge and understanding in the steel construction & fabrication. Throughout his time at CEADS Leigh has been involved in various Commercial projects including Multi-Residential developments, Townhouses, Office Buildings & Shop Fitouts. Making his way through the ranks to now be the Senior Residential Design Consultant. His main roles includes overseeing of all residential development. Leigh has an uncanny ability to create unique built form whilst maintaining practicality. Outside of work hours Leigh enjoys spending time with his young family whilst also playing AFL for the Yeppoon Swans, Leigh is the current Vice Captain of the Senior grade team and has been involved with the club for a number of years.
Locally born and raised, Lucy attended St Ursula’s College Yeppoon and graduated in 2020. Lucy is the newest member of the CEADS team and has been working in the business since late December 2020. Lucy has a background in the construction industry, with both parents working as a design and construct duo in the local area. Lucy is currently studying a Bachelor of Building Design at CQ University to further expand her knowledge of the industry and gain a valuable qualification in the future. Within the business Lucy predominantly works in the Residential department of the business. Lucy’s role is to draft the initial concept for the client then amend any further changes the client may have. Outside of work Lucy enjoys spending time with friends and family, getting outdoors.
